New venues, new direction and more. Lots of changes in the air at the Movies for Season 5 of Bethlehem’s Movies, Games & More project. Look for more venues around Bethlehem will less frequency at each venue. The project is now under the direction of Bethlehem’s Parks Department.
Let’s hope for better weather for Season 5! Season 4 was a challenge but we got it done. Hopefully last year’s deluge will be this year’s drought. Stay tuned for more info as the schedule for Season 5 develops.
Ain’t technology grand!
Joining us tonight will be Kemer Stevenson. Kemer is a Character Effects Artist with Dreamworks and worked on Megamind. Kemer hails from the animated state of PA. I say the animated state of PA because there are a handful of people from the area that work at Dreamworks.
Kemer will not be at the Rose Garden, he will be at home in California joining us via Skype Video. We will ask Kemer a few questions and then open it up to the audience to ask away about Megamind, How to Train Your Dragon and other projects in which Kemer had a hand. Find out what’s coming from Dreamworks as well!

Well, we have to apologize for yesterdays early call on the weather for August Rush at the Rose Garden. We will not make a weather call for the rest of the season until 4pm. This gives us a couple extra hours to see how things unfold. Yesterday the energy moved north and just east of us and cleared through pretty early.
Hang on a bit and we will get August Rush back on the calendar at the Rose Garden. It’s a good film for those that haven’t seen it and a nice chance to see and hear it up on the big screen and in surround sound at the Rose Garden.

Due to rapidly destabilizing atmosphere and a disturbance that will pick up steam after 3pm, we are postponing tonight’s screening of August Rush at the Rose Garden. Keep watching this site and/or follow us on twitter @studioboss for the new date. Will try and do it next week but it may just go to late August or sometime in September.
Parents and kids alike, get ready to oil up those hips and get your hoop on at Movies, Games & More. Tina Spinz from Spirithoops will be joining us again this year on June 8th, July 20th and August 24th at the animated movies for Season 4.

Well, we did the snack shack at the Rose Garden last night. Went pretty well for a first time. Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Frozen Snickers and other candy, Soda, Water, Iced Tea, Juice Boxes, Ice Cold Lemonade. Learned a few things, NbNW made some $ to help pay the licensing fees and will tweak it a bit for August at the Rose Garden again.
Got the movie in and packed up prior to the brief storm front that came through. Was looking ominous on the radar during the movie traveling southeast in a line that went from CT to Indiana. I think “9″ was the shortest film we ever showed at 79 minutes.
There might have been some sort of mixup in the summer concert series at the park as many people commented on their being a concert there last night. I think they were down at the Ice House last night and are at the Rose Garden tonight – Sunday. Hmmm, will have to look into that.
I want to thank the gang that helps make it possible. Last night we had Steve, Lenore, Cathy, Pat, Robin, Autumn, Abbey, Seth, James and Keith. Thanks gang! You might have broken a record for quick teardown last night!

Christopher and I hung the banners today at Friendship Park, Fairview Park and the Rose Garden in between dropping off supplies for the many cleanups going on in Bethlehem.
Be sure to check them out when you are at the parks. In case of bad weather, we always hang a banner announcing that at the park as well. Let’s hope for good weather but just in case, look for that banner or check the phone line at 610-997-5732 or check the website, facebook and twitter.

Bethlehem Rocks! We have 4 legged police officers! That’s good because those aliens might be pretty quick, or those Meatballs might land and squash one of em. Bring the kids to the movies early if they want to meet the gang from the Bethlehem Police Mounted Unit!
The Bethlehem Police Mounted Unit has recently been restored to Bethlehem Downtown after a 63 year hiatus. The acquisition of Raven and George “W” has brought a new tool to the Bethlehem Police Department and the city. The long absent clop, clop of horses hooves echo back to a different time, the same as our vibrant downtown and business districts represent.

Tina and the gang from Spirithoops return for the full season at Friendship, Fairview and the Rose Garden. The hooping begins each night at 6:45pm so make sure you get there early, get you blanket and chairs in position and get your hoop on!
There will be enough hoops for a big crowd to get hooping and it’s not just for the kids! Hooping is a great way to loose some weight and have some fun with your kids. There will be some prizes as well!

The great folks from Cops n’ Kids will be joining us for some events again this year passing out free books! To date they have distributed over 300,000 free books. That’s amazing! Congratulations Beverly and everyone involved in Cops n’ Kids!!!! We were meeting today with one of our neighbors Kinsey to explore the idea of a storytelling/reading program to go along with Movies Games & More prior to the movies. Fantastic idea Kinsey and thanks Beverly for the info! More to follow.
