After the sun went down last night it was actually pretty nice sitting on a blanket at the Levitt Pavilion to watch a screening of Cars 2 on their built in LED screen. The venue has an advantage over other LV outdoor movies in the fact that they can start earlier with that screen technology. That’s important for families bringing out the little ones. Most animated or family oriented films tend to run about 93 minutes so your done and home by 10pm.

It was pretty nice after the sun set. There was a little breeze and a tasty beverage of your choice from inside or what you might bring along yourself made it very nice. I’d say between 150 and 175 people and some puppies were in attendance. The ArtsQuest folks gave out a few prizes in a Let’s Make a Deal type contest prior to the film.

Looking forward to another night at the Levitt.

Maverick (Tom Cruise) is one of the best daredevil pilots in his class at the Miramar Naval Air Station for Top Gun advanced fighter school. He and his partner, Goose (Anthony Edwards), battle Russians fighter pilots over international waters. Incredible stunts and memorable aerial photography are some of the reasons why this action-packed story was one of the ‘80s most popular films.
